Quarterly
Newsletter:
The
Exchange publishes a quarterly newsletter for members.
The newsletter includes notices of events and meetings
as well as local business news. Members are invited
to submit news about their business for publication.
Gorham
Business Directory:
Annually,
the Exchange publishes its business directory. All
businesses that wish to be listed are included at
not charge. Members are listed with a bold face
type in a boxed listing. In addition, the directory
is published "at cost" which makes display
advertising a very reasonable marketing option.
Gorham
Marketplace:
The
Exchange holds its annual Marketplace at the Costello
Field House at the University of Southern Maine
in Gorham. This event draws thousands of shoppers
to see what goods and services Gorham vendors have
to offer. The University generously donates the
space for this event, which allows members to enjoy
an tremendous marketing opportunity at an attractively
low cost.
Business
Person of the Year:
Annually,
the Exchange presents this prestigious award to
a deserving Gorham business person who has been
selected through a nominating process in accordance
with a specific criteria. The award is presented
at the June After Hours Reception.
Gorham
Gala:
In
mid-winter, the Exchange sponsors an annual fundraising
semi-formal dinner dance. Open to the general public,
this popular event features great food, extraordinary
music and a wonderful social time for the people
to celebrate winter in Gorham.
Scholarships:
The
Exchange offers two scholarships to Gorham students
graduating from high school. One scholarship will
be presented to a student pursuing a degree in business
and the other one will be presented to a student
who has shown an outstanding interest in civic affairs.
Dues
The
dues structure is simple. Each business,
no matter the size, pays the same amount,
$85.00 annually.
The
Board of Directors is committed to making
membership available to all business owners.
If the dues presents a hardship, new businesses
may apply for a one-time scholarship (reduced
rate) for its first year in business.
